Engine DJ 5.0 has officially launched, bringing industry-first features and significant performance enhancements to both standalone hardware and desktop preparation software. This update redefines the standalone workflow, offering more creative control and visual clarity than ever before.

 

World-First: On-Device Stem Rendering:

 

For the first time on DJ hardware, the RANE SYSTEM ONE can now render stems directly on the device—no computer required. This groundbreaking feature allows DJs to isolate vocals or instruments on the fly.

  • Note: The stem rendering process takes a few moments to complete before stems are accessible. It is important to avoid describing this feature as "instant" or "real-time."

 

Vibrant RGB Waveforms:

 

Users can now choose between the classic tri-band waveforms or the new high-vibrancy, full-color RGB waveforms. This feature is available across all Engine DJ devices and the desktop software, providing a modern look and better frequency visualization.

 

Enhanced Library & Workflow Tools:

 

  • On-Device Track Star Ratings: Quickly rate tracks from 1 to 5 stars directly from the Library or Performance views to stay organized while you play.

  • Redesigned Source Menu: The Quick Source selector and full-screen Source Menu are now connected, delivering a more streamlined navigation experience.

  • Browse Encoder Customization: You can now choose whether turning the Browse encoder opens the library or zooms the waveform.

  • Desktop Import Assistant: Easily migrate your music library from Serato, Apple Music/iTunes, rekordbox, or Traktor using a new guided, step-by-step workflow.

 

Perfect for Demos:

 

To help you experience the power of 5.0 immediately, several models now ship with pre-rendered demo tracks for stems. This allows for immediate testing of stem isolation without an external drive or laptop. Supported models include:

  • RANE: SYSTEM ONE

  • Denon DJ: PRIME 4+, PRIME GO+, SC LIVE 2, and SC LIVE 4

  • Numark: Mixstream Pro+ and Mixstream Pro Go

 

In addition to these headline features, version 5.0 includes dozens of performance improvements, such as expanded beat ranges for Reverb effects and faster music source switching.
